The on-site crew needed a device that was light, easy to use and quick in deployment that would enable them to quickly interact with the broadcasting station whilst on the move and update them constantly on the war events as well as they’re safety
• The crew was equipped with Thuraya SO-2510 satellite phones that allowed them to continuously make and receive calls to and from the station giving regular updates of the war progress, coordinating their broadcasts whilst informing them of their own whereabouts and safety status.
The crew required a stable, portable device that they could easily be ferried and set up at any remote area and facilitate data streaming
• The crew equipped themselves with BGAN Hughes 9201 and was able to forward pictures of the war as it evolved and reports for news updates and general update sessions to the station. In addition, Bgan quicklink’s video compression and transmission software ensured that high quality video was delivered cost effectively to the home studios.
To carry out live broadcasting sessions, the crew needed an easily deployable communication device that could be setup in minutes and be user friendly.
• The team used their BGAN Hughes 9201 and carried out live coverage of the war, capturing the war as it progressed, real-time enemy attacks and army responses, evacuation processes, infrastructure devastation and transmitting directly to their network viewers.
• It also acted as the office, fixed phone line as it offered affordable call rates and was accessible to everyone.
